Why Choose India?

India is a colorful and fascinating country. Volunteer will surely be enchanted by the magnitude of contrasts that is concealed in this country. Here volunteer will find deep traditional and cultural roots existing side by side with the modern impact of globalization. India is the only country on the globe with unity in diversity. The language, the tradition and the culture changes after every 100 kilometer. Here volunteer will find people having faith in many religions with wide range of rituals and customs which cannot be found anywhere else.

India is a land of fairy tales, princess, palaces and preening peacocks with a proud history of giant forts. Volunteer also find hills, deserts, seas, green fields and also the forests. In cities you will encounter overcrowded markets, sky scrapers, and latest model of cars with all the facilities of lavish living available and opposite to that in rural areas you will find people are still living in mud houses with simplicity and traveling by camel and bullock carts and they are lacking with the basic amenities of life. Indians pride themselves in their hospitality. There is a Hindu saying “Atithi Devo Bhav”, which means “Guest is God”. Most Indians practice this saying and you will be met by friendly and curios people, who wants to make your stay enjoyable and as good as possible.

India is the second largest populated country in the world besides the rate of development is very fast but somehow the economic growth is not high. The gap between rich and poor is very wide, which means that the underprivileged population of India is very much in need. People who live in the rural and remote areas are very poor. Some of them choose to move to the nearby big cities to seek their fortune. Very few of them succeed in this quest and end up living on the streets of Metro cities; many of the children end up in orphanages. This is only a very small part of the problems in India. There are lots of other problems pertaining to education, health, social and family welfare, because of poverty and lack of awareness. The need is to give special attention to wipe it off by putting all possible efforts against this dark side of life.
