Gap Year India Expedition Program
Shake Hands provide 12 weeks Gap Year Project in India with a great
cultural and volunteering experience of a lifetime. In this gap year
opportunity, participants will do volunteer work in nearby rural areas
of
Dharamshala with India expedition. The India Expedition is perfect
adventure expedition in Asia. It combines travel, adventure and
volunteer work, so the Gap Year Programme is full of rewarding
experiences and action.
Gap Year Project: India Expedition
The India Expedition begins in Delhi with all its magnificent
contrasts between old and new India. You will visit Gandhi Memorial,
India Gate, and try out some of their famous markets. After Delhi it
is onto Agra, to see the Taj Mahal's outstanding beauty.
The journey continues to the Pink City (Jaipur) with a week long
orientation, Village Safari, Tiger Safari at Ranthambhore Tiger
Reserve Park and then visit to Jaisalmer with full night supported
Camel Safari, you'll enjoy the outstanding atmosphere of desert. Then
you will take a journey to the Sun City of Rajasthan, (Jodhpur) and
the fascinating Pushkar with Aimer sight seeing. Pushkar is one of
India's most holy cities. You will take an overnight train from Aimer
to Dharamshala for volunteer work.
During the volunteering period on alternate weekends you will take a
memorable trip to Dharamshala & McLeodGanj then to Golden Temple (Amritsar),
Himalayan Trekking and visit to Kullu-Manali-Rohatang Pass including
River Rafting.
Gap Year Project: Volunteer Work
The volunteer work takes place in a small village near Dalai Lama city
of Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. Here, the group becomes part of
the community, teaching English to children in local schools and
taking part in any local festivals and celebrations. Volunteers can
bring their own skills, resources and ideas to aid their teaching,
with suggestions for extra curricular activities welcomed.
At the end of Gap Year Project you will take a flight from Dharamshala
to Delhi to catch a flight to home or volunteers are free to
individual journey.

when your application is approved, you will receive a request
money email within 48 hours to deposit application fee of £ 250 /
€ 334 / $ 500
to secure your place in the program. Once your application fee is
deposited, your place on the program will be secured and you will
receive a written confirmation of the same.
